White Goose Down
Some
of the finest white goose down in the world is
actually produced in Hungary and Canada.
Some sources on the
worldwide web actually state that the source of
all of the fluffy white down is Asia, however,
white goose down originates in a number of
countries. The rationale for these statements
seems to be that geese are basically raised for
food, and the people of Asia consume most of
them. The down is the result of the consumption
of the geese in Asia.

school teacher for being correct about a large

that neither Hungary nor Canada is located in
Asia, nor have they relocated there since your

down, Asia certainly does not produce all of it.
True down appears, and indeed is, three
dimensional with clusters that interlock though
millions of what can only be called filaments.
Filaments compose that fluffy air trap that
keeps you warm, even when the air is very cold
outside, and even a bit chilly inside.
Although high
quality down products do not easily wear out, it
is best to keep them from getting wet. If a down
comforter does get wet, it will need to be dried
thoroughly in order to prevent mold from
developing.
Down is very
pleasing to the senses. We tend to think of
white things as being pure. Not all down has to
be white to be comfortable and effective. The
down from the highly prized and protected Elder
Duck is in fact brown.
